JOB TITLE:QUALITY LEADER REPORTING TO:QUALITY MANAGER DEPARTMENTAL HEAD:OPERATIONS DIRECTOR JOB PURPOSE (BRIEF OVERVIEW): To implement the agreed Quality and Product Compliance strategies and policies as issued by the UK Quality Management team. To assist in the improving the quality of products and processes within the business, to ensure the company and its products meet all necessary regulatory and safety requirements. To contribute to the effective and timely launch of new products through the achievement of timely product compliance, and to ensure products meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Directive 2001/95/EC. Ensure that products are developed to meet full life test quality standards and are developed to meet cost targets. To minimise product returns through a programme of testing of initial samples, analysis of returns and development of product quality improvement initiatives. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Closely monitor changes and developments in EU regulatory legislation & standards affecting products as advised by the UK Quality Management team, and ensure that necessary compliance processes are established in a timely fashion; • Progress new products through the development cycle to ensure they are of a satisfactory build quality and are compliant with necessary European and local market regulations; • Work with factories and appointed test laboratories to ensure products are compliant to meet the planned launch date; • Administer and collate all necessary compliance certification to support for new product launches; • Administer compliance certification re-testing programme to meet the business’s agreed policy; • Provide input to new product development process to ensure products are compliant; and designed and built in the most cost effective manner; • Manage the product development life test programme to ensure products are fit for purpose & meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Directive • Act as an authoritative point of reference for regulatory matters for the business; • Carry out failure investigations for products identified as having a high returns experience by the UK Quality Management Team, work with the factory to implement Quality improvement measures to reduce returns; • Develop and implement product quality improvement and value engineering initiatives with 3rd party factories as detailed by UK product managers; • Develop pre-shipment inspection specifications with factories and inspectors to ensure that product quality is robustly maintained; • Monitor factory quality performance, developing appropriate strategies to improve factory quality performance; • Work with major customers to ensure that product safety / compliance reporting is in place to satisfy their requirements; • Provide product and factory compliance data as requested to customers • Provide technical product specifications to customers as requested KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: • Third party Manufacturers based in China • Third party DCs • 3rd party Inspection & Testing companies • Supply Chain Managers • Marketing KEY SYSTEMS USED: • Microsoft Office • Outlook • Infor LN ERP KEY CORE COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED TO CARRY OUT ROLE: • Electrical/Electronic Engineering Graduate/Technician • Regulatory & Standards awareness including ISO9001 / ISO13485 • Accuracy & attention to detail • Spreadsheet/data manipulation skills • Project Management skills within an extended supply chain • Critical thinking • Influencing skills • Planning & Organisation skills LINE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY: N/A ANY BUDGETARY CONTROL, IF SO, WHAT LEVEL OF BUDGET N/A 有意者请发送简历至:recruitment.Asia@homedics.com
